The TARP Song Video | Mocking The Troubled Assets Relief Program With Music

TARP (Troubled Assets Relief Program) is the official name given to the U.S. government’s $700 million financial bailout for banks and companies that got us in this recession in the first place.

Like many people, Bill Zucker isn’t happy with how the rich bankers and businessmen are getting bailed out while ordinary people are having their houses repossessed and losing their jobs. So he wrote a song about it.

The TARP Song was first played on CNBC’s Power Lunch last month and proved to be a big hit with the financially astute viewers of that channel. It has since gone on to become a massive hit on YouTube and can even be downloaded from iTunes.

Zucker claims to have written the song in the space of five minutes in order to cheer people affected by the economic downturn up. And I think he’s managed it well despite the song having a serious side that the politicians should consider.
