When 60 Minutes went to interview the man behind the Park51 Islamic Center, little did they know that they would run into a white guy who used to be a member of a Jewish Community Center.
After watching this segment, it’s easy to see that the “controversy” surrounding the building is only for media and political hype.
As it turns out the “Ground Zero Mosque” is already that- a functioning place of worship. All that’s left is the actual center that encompasses it. Mind you, after Park51 is complete, the religious part of the building will only be on 2 floors.
It’s a shame that the plans for the center had to come out this way, but at least now people can complain about something else. Unless, of course, you’re running for a political office.
