I don’t know if you’ve heard by now, but today is a sad day for rock. The White Stripes have officially broken up.

A lot of people just don’t understand “the big deal” about The White Stripes. While I was never really a fan of any of their entire albums, I always respected them for rocking live.
These days, if a band goes platinum you’ve got to pay at least $50 to see them live in a conformed stadium with harsh security. The White Stripes, on the other hand, would play just about anywhere for the love of music.
