Cheating is rife in soccer. Many of us wish it wasn’t but it’s just a fact in a sport where so many games have so much riding on the result.
This video shows some of the worst (or best, depending on your point of view) dives and over-reactions ever captured on film. Nothing from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa can compete.
Diving, and trying to get awarded a penalty or free-kick, is almost taught to players these days. Which is why there is so much of it about, with players often going down as if they’re been shot by a sniper in the crowd.
My favorites from this sequence are the two right near the end. Both show two people coming together in a clash of heads, and both show two people falling to the ground as if their heads have exploded.
I wish football was cleaner, but it does make for funny video clips.
