Canada has spoken: the new Canadian Idol is Theo Tams! Despite living all the way over in Australia I’ve been sucked into this reality competition, and I’ve made no secret of my love of the lad from Lethbridge, Alberta.
I could have showed you his new single “Sing,” but honestly it’s the same overblown pap they make all the idols sing. So I’d much rather show you a song from the top two show because it’s performances like this that saw him come out on top.
“Good Mother” is a Jann Arden song, but it’s easy to forget that when Theo sings it. He becomes one with the lyrics and his piano, and it’s beautiful to watch.
Anyone who believes the Idol franchise just pumps out karaoke kings and queens might want to take a look at this guy. He’s the real deal.
