I never thought I’d live to see the day Thom Yorke danced to Beyonce. But I have, amazingly. Well, kind of.
The truth, of course, is a little stranger than that. Rather than actually dancing to Single Ladies, this video shows Yorke dancing to Lotus Flower, the first single from Radiohead’s new album, The King Of Limbs. If you want to see the original then click here.
Whoever decided to replace Lotus Flower with Single Ladies is an inspired genius. Because it works so Goddamn well. Then again, how do we know this wasn’t the actual song playing at the time Yorke was recording the video?
Make no mistake about it, this is the start of a meme. I’ve already seen one with Whip My Hair, and I have no doubt more will follow. Still, it’s all good publicity for Radiohead, even though I doubt Yorke will be all that enamored with the idea.
