This is the news story that everyone online is talking about today. A woman has posed breastfeeding her 3-year-old son for the front cover of Time magazine.
I have seen some epic rants against this photo and people who breastfeed their children to this age. Some claim it’s selfishness, others that it’s child abuse, others still that it’s incestual.
My take on it is that while it’s not the norm, that doesn’t necessarily make it wrong. It’s her body and her offspring so she can do what she wants in that regard. This is hardly against his will.
I sadly think people are quick to judge and judge on a very narrow basis of their own experience. If you don’t want to breastfeed your 3-year-old then don’t, but why do you feel the need to stop others doing it?
