We may not have invented anything as life-changing as the electric light bulb or car in recent years, but technology is still bubbling along at a rapid pace. In this video Time Magazine looks back at some of 2009’s best innovations.

It seems folks all around the world are making giant leaps, from the Aussies who’ve created sustainable blue fin tuna farms to the team at EnergyHub who’ve created a smart thermostat. These innovations will help to make our planet cleaner and greener.

That’s great, but I’m much more excited about Microsoft’s control-free gaming console. This leaves the Wii for dead, sensing the movements of your own body. Bring it on!
