Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is now out in the U.S., three months after it was released in the U.K. Will American audiences love the film as much as Brits did?
Strangely, American critics haven’t been as full of praise for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy as their British counterparts. And I think I know why.
Firstly, this is a very British film, and American critics tend to be quite insular in supporting Hollywood productions over anything else. Then there is the lack of action, at least Michael Bay-style car chases and explosions action.
You’ll either love or hate Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. This isn’t a film for those who want spills and thrills but is for those who love a great script being delivered masterly by a superb cast.
