It works so well because it looks so real. You watch the first ad thinking it’s actually a commercial on local U.S. television for a well-meaning but ignorant laundry.
The final reveal, that the place is now called Uncle Tom’s Laundry is genius. For those who don’t know, Uncle Tom is a derogatory term for someone complicit in their own racial persecution.
