What happens when a tree branch lands on an overhead power line? The result is pretty awesome actually, but unless you’re willing to sit staring at a power line until a branch happens to fall on it, you’ll have to take matters into your own hands.
I’m not condoning this at all!!! But that’s surely what has happened here, because there are clearly no trees higher than the power lines. I sense someone’s thrown the branch up there instead. But I could be wrong.
Regardless of how the branch got up there I’m kind of glad it did. Sure, it probably meant a block experienced a power outage for a couple of days but that’s their problem.
At least we get to see what happens when a branch from a tree lands on a power line. And I’m sure you’ll agree the result is pretty spectacular. Sparkles, crackling, smoke, light, and a brilliant lightning-style arc to close. Awesome.
