The artworks of M.C. Escher have the incredible power to suck you in and hold you there as you marvel at their intricacy. Cristobel Vila looks to dazzle us in the same way with his Escher inspired short film, appropriately titled Inspirations.
The piece takes us on a journey around a room intended to represent the legendary Dutch artist’s workspace. The camera pauses to linger on various items in motion, hypnotic pieces that mimic the elements we’ve seen in Escher’s works.
This video is so simple, but so effective. I’ve never been quite so compelled by a slowly moving camera!
