A tsunami has to be one of the most awesomely scary natural phenomena to experience. Water may be essential for life but the thought of a giant wall of the stuff hurtling towards you is very frightening.
This video shows a news report of the tsunami that has just hit Samoa and American Samoa. It occurred as the result of an 8.3 magnitude earthquake erupted in the sea 120 miles off the coast of the tiny Pacific islands.
150 people have already been confirmed dead but that total is likely to rise as the full implications of this natural disaster are felt. Four waves are thought to have hit, all with heights of around 20 feet.
Homes have been obliterated and cars swept off the roads. The force of the water that hit the islands is mind-blowing and President Obama has declared it a major disaster.
