“Two Little Boys” Film Trailer Video | Bret McKenzie & Hamish Blake Star in Kiwi Black Comedy

When I heard Flight of the Conchords‘ Bret McKenzie was teaming up with Australian comedian Hamish Blake for a movie I was pretty excited. However now that I’ve seen the trailer for Two Little Boys, I’m just not sure.

Two Little Boys could be one of the cleverest black comedies to ever come out of New Zealand, or it might be one of the silliest films to ever hit the big screen. I certainly expected more laugh out loud moments in this trailer, but perhaps it just hasn’t been put together right.

After the movie generated some serious buzz at the recent Berlin Film Festival I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. However, my enthusiasm for this film project has waned somewhat.

Two Little Boys hits New Zealand cinemas in March, with international release dates to follow.
