Whether you use it or not, most of you are probably aware of a new social media phenomenon called Twitter. This micro-blogging service allows you to keep in touch with friends (and complete strangers) 24 hours a day, so long as you can update in under 140-characters.
This video shows one office employee showing another how Twitter works. How? By flying him into the Twittersphere. This is the magical place where tweets, both inane and important, fly by randomly.
All is going well until the non-Twitter user decides to distance himself from the whole thing, and so tells the truth every Twitter user refuses to accept – these people aren’t your friends and they don’t care what you have to say.
Unfortunately, hearing this sends everyone into a panic and summons the Fail Whale to disconnect everyone. The office employees fall to Earth and the Twitter fan does the one thing he has to do – Twitters about his experience.
This animated short is funny precisely because there are elements of truth there. Even as a Twitter fan myself, I can see how utterly pointless the whole thing really is. Now I’m off to tweet about this video…
