Ninja Theory has released a new video game called Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. This is, on the surface at least, a hack ‘n’ slash game from the company that made Devil May Cry.
However, there’s a lot more going on in Senua’s Sacrifice than is immediately obvious. As this review by IGN makes abundantly clear.
For starters, Hellblade is a difficult game. There’s no tutorial or hand-holding, and if you die too many times you have to go back to the start.
Then there are the confusing visuals and mind-boggling puzzles which have the potential to hold up progress.
I’m not usually a fan of tough games, but this one looks so good I might just have to give it a go.
