Unsettling Waterboarding Demonstration Video | Christopher Hitchens Freaks Out

According to a leaked document, U.S. President Donald Trump may authorize the use of waterboarding and other forms of torture while interrogating prisoners.

President Obama banned the use of torture, including waterboarding, as an interrogation technique way back in 2009. But with Obama gone, anything goes, apparently.

This video shows Christopher Hitchens, who was at the time editor of Vanity Fair, being waterboarded under controlled conditions to see just how bad the experience is.

It’s fair to say he didn’t enjoy being waterboarded.

I’m pretty sure waterboarding works in breaking prisoners’ resolves and getting them to talk. But that doesn’t make torture acceptable. Shouldn’t we be better than this?!
