Iraqi citizens are celebrating the withdrawal of United States soldiers from Iraq cities. While troops will remain outside the cities, there is still apparently much to celebrate.
And why shouldn’t they celebrate US soldiers leaving? It is only what they have wanted since near the time the soldiers arrived. I’d be shooting fireworks, too.
You have to love the comedy of the US handing over the keys to the Iraq cities to the Iraqis. Strange and wacky political moves don’t get much better than that, do they?
Then again, what really is the appropriate gift to a country you’ve invaded where no one wants you?
