At the Athens Olympics in 2004, Veronica Campbell-Brown became the first Jamaican woman to win Olympic sprint gold with her victory in the 200m.
Her win broke a broke a four consecutive silver medal run for Caribbean women in the 200m. All in a day’s work for Veronica.
Veronica made her international debut at just 16 in the 1998 World Junior Championships. She then competed two years later at the Sydney Olympics as part of the 4x100m.
Even with all her victories and focus on sports, she managed to maintain a 3.8 GPA in community college in Kansas. She then went on to attend the University of Arkansas.
