“Two men have been arrested as anti-Islam activists and anti-racism protesters converged at Sydney’s Cronulla Beach.
“About 150 anti-racism activists congregated on the beach chanting slogans including “Muslims are welcome, racists are not”, “racist scum off the beach, racist scum off the street” and “Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land”.
“A 58-year-old Warilla man from the anti-racism group shouting obscenities at police was arrested for offensive behaviour.
“Minutes later, a 25-year-old man from Seaforth, from the same group and wearing a bandanna over his face, was carted away for disturbing the peace.
“Members of the Antifa (anti-fascism) group were also believed to be present, dressed in black and wearing black face masks. They abused police using megaphones, according to Fairfax.”
