He’s played for nine US presidents and recorded dozens of albums. And now we remember him after his passing. RIP Roger Williams
Another victim of pancreatic cancer, Williams lost his fight early Saturday in Los Angeles at 87 years old.
According to CNN, “His break came in 1955 with his recording of “Autumn Leaves,” going on to have hits on the Billboard charts for four decades, according to his official website.”
Former first lady Nancy Reagan is quoted as saying, “Roger was a great pianist, a great American and a great friend.”
As a man who practiced eight hours a day, it seems only right that he would come to such acclaim.
