Because why wouldn’t you make a pyrotechnic pie for Thanksgiving? It’s like having the fun of the Fourth of July in the snow! Whee!
I think the really sad thing about that pie is that it actually looks tasty when they are pouring it into the pie base. Caramelised sugar for the win every time.
I could see this sort of thing happening in a scientist’s house or teacher’s house over the holidays. “Okay, kids, now back away…”
