“The first trailer for the anticipated Thor: Ragnarok, released overnight, gives us our first glimpse of Blanchett as Hela, Thor’s dark foe in the upcoming blockbuster.
“Clad in a chic black leather get-up, complete with dark hair, nails and heavy mascara, Blanchett looks to have got her inspiration from early ’00s nu-goth music videos, as much as the comics’ Norse mythology.
“With its slightly on-the-nose nod to Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song, the rest of the trailer skews closer to Marvel’s trademark rollicking, colourful shtick.”
