“BB King, whose scorching guitar licks and heartfelt vocals made him the idol of generations of musicians and fans while earning him the nickname ‘King of the Blues’, has died aged 89.
“While he had spent the better part of 70 years on the road, playing gigs in pretty much every corner of the world, when he died, the blues guitarist, singer and iconic figure did so at home in Las Vegas.
“His lawyer, Brent Bryson, said King died peacefully in his sleep. Mostly likely, the latest version of his trademark Gibson guitar, all of which were called Lucille, was not too far away.”
