“Chris Dawson has been charged over the disappearance of Lynette Dawson, following his sensational arrest on Wednesday at a relative’s Gold Coast property.
“Mr Dawson, who has long been the only suspect in his wife’s mysterious 1982 disappearance, spent the night in a Queensland prison cell after his bid to stop his extradition to New South Wales to face a murder charge failed.
“The 70-year-old arrived at Sydney airport shortly after 9am and was taken to the Sydney Police Centre, accompanied by three detectives.
“He was then formally charged with murder before being refused police bail, to appear at Central Local Court later on Thursday.”
