Because nothing says Merry Christmas like a tax-funded Christmas tree marketing campaign.
Why don’t you use that tax to bail your sorry butts out of debt?
When I first heard the news about the tax, I thought this was the latest move by the US government to increase revenue to get out of debt.
(Though I think that’s technically impossible at this point, isn’t it?)
Lo and behold, I am mistaken. This tax isn’t to be used for something useful like that but for a marketing campaign for Christmas tree sellers.
Come. On. It’s Christmas. Do you really need any more marketing than a worldwide holiday?
