Whether or not the elderly should be given extra consideration for release is a tough subject.
Sure, on one hand you have people who have missed out on the majority of their lives because they are in prison. On the other, you have the fact they lost out on their lives because some of them killed another human being.
Doesn’t it seem a bit silly to start feeling sorry for murderers now just because they are old?
Add to the fact that someone who has been in prison for 44 years is going to need just as much help functioning in the population anyway…
