Texas man, Dallas Wiens of Fort Worth, made his first appearance to show off his new face. The first ever recipient of a full face transplant, the doctors say that it went better than expected.
Weins lost most of his face and was blinded when his head touched a high-voltage line when he was standing in a cherry picker to fix a window.
“There are no words to truly describe the debt of gratitude or love that I have … for the donor’s family,” Dallas said.
This is certainly a stunning advance in medical technology and it promises to provide a lot of hope for those who are similar to Dallas.
