“Alongside the 35 hour working week, six weeks of paid leave and generous striking rights, a portion of French workers can now also be grateful for the right to ignore bosses’ emails after work.
“Employers will no longer be allowed to bombard staff with messages in the 133 hours of the week designated for rest, according to a new agreement signed by employers’ federations and trade unions in the digital and technology sectors.
“Staff have been ordered to switch off professional phones and emails, while employers are required to ensure there is no pressure for workers to keep up-to-speed after hours.”
