Tonight is the night of the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. This is a time when our ancestors would commemorate the peak of Summer, at the time of the longest day of the year.
There have been virgins sacrificed, and parties of all kinds, dances around maypoles and weird ceremonies to placate the gods, but the Solstices and Equinoxes were always significant times for those who came before us.
