“Google has come under fire recently for removing thousands of negative Play Store reviews for the Robinhood app. This follows on from the events over the last hours and days that saw the Robinhood app receive its own criticisms.
“In fact, it is these criticisms of the app that led to a sudden review bombing on the Google Play Store. Here’s what happened and why Google removed the reviews.
“As heavily reported over the last few days, GameStop stock suddenly surged. Robinhood is an app that can be used to buy and sell stocks and it is understood to have been used to help fuel the GameStop spike.
“Due to how the app was being used, Robinhood temporarily suspended buying of GameStop stock, citing regulatory reasons. Since making that decision, a class-action lawsuit has been launched by users of the app.”
