John Pilger’s latest documentary film, The War You Don’t See, features the government control of media and what is really happening in Iraq that you don’t see.
*Does contain disturbing images.
When I talked to my husband about this documentary after we had watched it, I told him that I knew when my brain had ‘shut off and stopped connecting with the images’.
Watching the bodies of dead children being pulled away… My brain refused to accept anything other than they were sleeping.
And yet, that is the kind of thing that is really happening but doesn’t get reported because ‘the people’ don’t need to know the ‘dirty’ side of war.
Well, war is dirty and horrible and the Iraqi people don’t get to just turn off the television, now do they?
