Dr. Laura always speaks her mind, but this one got her in hot water. I don’t think she quit so much as she was given a choice of either quitting or something worse.
At this point… I think she could have handled the question better. As someone whose job is giving advice, she could have been a lot more empathetic to the woman calling.
And I don’t think this has anything to do with her freedom of speech so much as her capacity for being offensive to a caller seeking her help.
