In scenes that look like an all out war, labour protesters clash with riot police in Athens as they march against government’s latest austerity measures. However, marching wasn’t all they did as gasoline bombs were hurled and cars were smashed.
According to the video description, the former Minister for Development Kostis Hatzidakis was attacked by protesters outside a luxury hotel. He was escorted, bleeding from the scene as his attackers yelled “thieves” at him.
Things don’t look as if they will be getting better any time soon, and you can be assured that it will be a very tense Christmas for Athens.
