“I’m okay with this. Some of the music in the original Mulan is pretty good, but it’s not on the same level as The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast or The Little Mermaid.
“Those movies are built around great music; Mulan, not so much. I can see it working very well without the musical numbers, as an epic tale of war and struggle against both a diabolical foe and antiquated social norms.”
