“The good news is that all three of my kids (ages 12, 8 and 4) think Scoob looks charming enough to justify an eventual theatrical outing.
“We aren’t necessarily Scooby Doo super-fans, but they’ve seen enough of the many (many) incarnations to qualify as “aware of and interested in the property” fans.
“I was never big into the property as a kid, oddly enough, although the last two live-action movies (Scooby Doo: The Mystery Begins and Scooby Doo: Curse of the Lake Monster) were quite good.
“They operated as a grounded, character-driven “Batman Begins” revamp after the two theatrical movies (Scooby Doo in 2002 and Scooby Doo: Monsters Unleashed in 2004, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., Matthew Lillard and Linda Cardellini) went full-Batman Forever.”
