Could what we have learned to term as ‘politically correct’ actually politically motivated? There is certainly a lot of evidence to show that taking the emotion out of harsh things with ‘fluffy’ words could be happening a lot more than we realize.
What used to be ‘buzz’ words are now a whole slew of ‘softened’ words and phrases that help people *not* attach to the emotions of a situation.
