Penn State University students took the battle against childhood cancer to the dance floor once again at THON 2011 and raised $9.5 million for the cause.
Talk about beating an old record; THON completely ran through last year’s $7.8 million raised.
This year’s theme – Together Without Limits – showed through not in only the amount of money raised but in the amazing spirit of the students in putting this event together.
‘”THON is undescribable. THON is love, THON is hope,” said Quortne Hutchings of Wilkes-Barre, who worked with families who have children suffering from cancer.’
This is just one more of those beautiful events that makes you feel that there is still good in the world.
