“Shoppers returned Monday to Town Center at Boca Raton as city police tried to determine the source of a loud noise Sunday afternoon that sparked reports of an active gunman at the mall.
“Among the questions police are probing is whether the noise was made intentionally, a spokesperson said.
“As of Monday, police have found no evidence of a shooting, despite initial reports that one person had been shot.
“Police later rolled back that comment, saying the person actually was injured in the mass exodus of mallgoers that afternoon. It appears he hit his head on the pushbar of a door. He was taken to Delray Medical Center for his injuries.”
