“Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis has been rushed to hospital just hours ahead of a gig in California on the weekend.
“According to Billboard, the funk-rock veteran and reformed junkie was ambulanced to hospital from the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre with “extreme” abdominal pain.
“Bass player Flea made the announcement to the 16,000-strong crowd, telling fans the band was “devastated” the headlining set had to be canned.
“The “Weenie Roast” event, promoted by radio station KROQ, confirmed that Kiedis was suffering severe stomach pain.
“”No one’s more disappointed than us that we couldn’t perform tonight,” drummer Chad Smith tweeted the following day.”
