“The mission to rescue 12 trapped boys and their soccer coach from the Thailand cave site has officially begun.
“Thai authorities confirmed the daring rescue operation had started at 10:00am (1:00pm AEST) after ambulances earlier arrived at the site and the area around the Tham Luang cave complex was evacuated.
“The head of the rescue mission and Governor of Chiang Rai province Narongsak Osottanakorn told media at a press conference the fastest group could be brought out is at 9:00pm (12:00am AEST) but the trapped team members were “very ready” to come out of the cave.
“Thirteen foreign divers, five Thai divers and five Navy SEALSs have been sent in to extract the group.”
