Are the monarchs worth it? What do they do, anyway?
The one thing that got me is the initial implication that if they didn’t have the monarchy, then any child could then become president or head of state or whatever the Brits wanted to call that position.
But in the real world, those kind of positions come down to money as well.
Let’s face it, even in countries with elected officials, every child does not have the same opportunity to become leader of the country.
All up, it’s an interesting point made regarding whether having royals is really effective at all these days…
