Just yesterday, ‘The Paper’ premiered on the MTV network. The new reality show focuses on “the most important job in the world”- being a journalist.

If you missed it, don’t worry about waiting for the re-run. You can catch the full episode online now.

The show documents the struggles of 4 juniors fighting to be next year’s Editor In Chief for Cypress Bay’s High School paper ‘The Circuit.’ Cypress Bay happens to currently be the largest high school in the United States with 5,300 people in it’s student body.

Cast

The Cast

Of all the 50 people on the newspaper’s staff, this is the core cast that includes your typical teenage stereotypes from the “loud mouth”, the “suck-up”, and the “hot head.” As for their future goals, some would be satisfied being ESPN writers while others aim for higher goals such as President of The United States.

  • Alex (sports editor)
  • Adam (business manager)
  • Giana (clubs editor)

Series Trailer

This is the official series trailer. Personally, I have a hard time picturing students this worked up over a high school Editor In Chief position. While this makes for good entertainment, keep in mind that this is and MTV production and will most likely over-dramatize “unscripted” scenes.

Catch ‘The Paper’ Mondays at 10:30 PM on MTV, and online right after the broadcast.
