“The Walking Dead is returning with relatively little fanfare tonight as this time, there’s no terribly huge cliffhanger to resolve this time around.
“The end of season 7A actually ended on a somewhat upbeat note, with “the gang” back together with a renewed focus on taking down Negan, something an uncomfortably subservient Rick should have been doing from the start.
“It’s not clear exactly how the next eight episodes are going to play out, but given the recent pacing.
“If I had to guess, we will definitely not resolve the Negan war by the end of this season, as we’re going to have probably at least 5-6 episodes of Rick and the others trying to convince the disjointed groups to try and work together.
“We have Alexandria, The Hilltop and The Kingdom, the latter two of which don’t want to fight at all.”
