“An actor on the long-running US drama Criminal Minds has been sacked after allegedly kicking a producer.
“Thomas Gibson apologised over the incident, which occurred last month while he was directing an episode of the new season.
“He said in a statement on Thursday: “There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement. I regret that it occurred.”
“On Friday ABC Studios and CBS Television Studios said Gibson had been dismissed. They said details on how his character would be written out of the show would be announced at a later date.
“Gibson had played special agent Aaron Hotchner since the show began in 2005. He also directed six episodes in recent years. The show focuses on an elite team of FBI profilers who try to anticipate and prevent criminal behaviour.”
