“The gunman was among the 13 found dead at the scene of a mass shooting late Wednesday at a Thousand Oaks bar, authorities said.
“The gunman was identified as Ian David Long, 28, of Newbury Park. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said he’d had past encounters with authorities, including being involved in a minor traffic collision and being a battery victim at a bar.
“Sheriff Geoff Dean said the gunman used a Glock 21 .45-caliber handgun.
“Dean said the gun was purchased legally but had a high-capacity magazine. It was not immediately clear if the magazine had been purchased before a ban on them took effect.”
