For the past year and a half, comedian Tom Green has been redefining what the average TV viewer knows about talk shows. His online show, “Tom Green Live”, has been broadcasted from his living room on various odd hours of the night while “eating a chicken sandwich”.
His style and production are pretty laid back compared to TV standards. His staff is composed of only three people: the cameraman, a director, and an audio expert. “I’ve probably done about 50 episodes with my dog” he says.
But even if he doesn’t give a shit, about 5 million viewers do; which is why the show plans to air on the Comedy Network starting January 7th.
He’ll answer Skype calls, instant messages, and e-mails from just about anyone watching, including A-list celebrities and rock bands. Even though there aren’t any content restrictions, he likes to keep the swearing down.
When it comes to privacy, however, Tom doesn’t mind using his own home for the show’s set. One episode actually featured him busting into his parent’s bedroom at 3am.
When asked about his lack of concern with privacy he responded:
“Life tends to be like that anyway in this kind of business. You can never really get away from it. It actually just saves me time, you know… I don’t have to be stuck in traffic.”
