“Residents in Melbourne’s north have been told to move away from an out-of-control grassfire, as separate blazes continue to threaten homes and lives in Victoria’s east on a day of extreme fire weather.
“Authorities issued an evacuation warning for people on Clovemont Way in Bundoora at 3:04pm as a grassfire burning in Plenty Gorge moved towards them.
“In a separate watch and act warning, residents in Bundoora and the nearby suburbs of Greensborough, Watsonia North and Plenty were told to move several streets back from the fire.
“In East Gippsland, eight emergency warnings are in place for out-of-control bushfires near Tambo Crossing, Suggan Buggan, Buchan, Bruthen, Wingan River, Goongerah, Wulgulmerang and Clifton Creek.”
