“Akamai Technologies said it has fixed an issue with its Edge DNS service, which was causing widespread outages across the internet early Thursday afternoon.
“The Cambridge, Mass.-based company said the Edge DNS service is “resuming normal operations,” less than an hour after the company reported a disruption with the service, which was bringing down multiple websites and services.
““We have implemented a fix for this issue, and based on current observations, the service is resuming normal operations,” an Akamai spokesperson told CRN in a statement. “We will continue to monitor to ensure that the impact has been fully mitigated.””
