“Popular YouTuber Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg tweeted that he was “sickened” that his name was mentioned by the suspected gunman of the New Zealand terrorist attacks early Friday.
“Forty-nine people were killed and at least 48 were injured in a terrorist attack at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.
“The suspected gunman behind the killing of Muslim worshipers, now in police custody, livestreamed the attack and also posted a 74-page “manifesto” online that shared white supremacist views.
“According to the Evening Standard, the shooter said on his Facebook livestream, “Remember lads, subscribe to PewDiePie.” The phrase, “subscribe to PewDiePie,” has become a meme among fans of the YouTuber.”
